"Whenever and however you give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body, and your spirit for the rest of your life."

     Strong, Adventurous, Mama

I'm Sam Hansen;  I am down-to-earth  and caring with a go-getter attitude! I think on my feet and rise up to the challenges life throws my way. I am curious by nature and love discovering new things about myself, and the world around me. I march to the beat of my own drum and challenge the status quo. Originally an island girl (P.E.I. that is!) I have been calling Nelson home for seven years and love the Kootenays. In my spare time, I love to be on the water sailing or exploring new nooks and crannies around the Koots with my husband, my daughter and our fur baby. I also enjoy being cozy and reading by the woodstove or relaxing at a natural hot spring whenever I can.

In terms of education, I have a B.Sc. in Biology, from St. Francis Xavier University. St. FX is one of Canada's top undergraduate universities and prides itself in creating world leaders. I received my Holistic Doula training four years ago from North America's most comprehensive program at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, B.C. The program only accepts 14 students per program and is highly extensive. My education gave me the skills and confidence to pursue my career as a Holistic Doula. I became a birth doula prior to giving birth myself as it is was a life calling to help mothers and babies come into this world with sincere love and support. I am grateful to have listened to my inner truth and honoured to support birthing people, their partners and babies through a pivotal point in life. In conjunction with birth support, I am pleased to offer postpartum support to families and newborns to help facilitate the transition into parenthood. I know first hand how important how overwhelming and isolating this time can be and offer caring comfort and extensive knowledge. Also, if you are planning a hospital birth I'm a registered doula, and up to date on my vaccinations so I have hospital privileges.

If you resonate with my bio, feel free to check out my website or find me on Facebook (Kootenay Inner Wisdom) to discuss availability and book a meet and greet.

I am offering reiki therapy for conception, pregnancy and beyond, support for ending a pregnancy and pregnancy and infant loss support services. Currently not accepting birth clients.

 Blessings,
Sam Hansen
